Afshar Multi 5753
Afshar carpets are made by the people of the Afshar tribe, from the area around Kerman in southeastern Iran. They are rarely made and are therefore difficult to find. They are very similar to the carpets from Sirdjan, where most Kilims come from. Afshar carpets often have a large center piece with one or more wide medallions and commonly used colors are red, green and blue. The motifs are generally rather coarse and lacking in detail. Rugs with finer motifs and more details come from the nearby town of Shahr Babak.
