Hamadan Red 368
Hamadan is one of the oldest cities in the world and is located in the western part of Iran. The city serves as a trading center for the carpets made in the hundreds of villages and towns in the area. Hamadan is a collective name for simple carpets. The best quality carpets are sold under the name of the village or city, such as Tuiserkan, Malayer, Hosseinabad and Mehraban. The motifs vary enormously, but the medallion motif is common. Herati (continuous) is a common pattern among higher quality rugs. Hamadan are generally good, strong utility carpets.
