Kilim Red 274
The name Kilim Comes from the Persian word "lyric". Kilim Dresses are not tied, but woven. They therefore have no pole and often no front and back, because both sides are the same. The advantage of this is that the rug can be reversed. Nomads tribes used the Kilim Often as a conclusion at the entrance of their tents to keep the heat inside. The materials used are mainly wool, but sometimes cotton is used for the warp wires. The quality and motives of Kelims vary enormously. Usually cheerful colors are used for the often abstract motifs, which give the rug a "tribal-like" appearance. You usually see at Kelims that a "space" is left between the different colors through the use of the warp wires (see detailed photo).
